I live in India(Mumbai) and i wanted to know whether anyone has been arrested in Mumbai or somewhere else in the world for downloading from
sites like Rapidshare, Megaupload, Depositfiles, Easyshare, etc

Usually, it’s civil, not a criminal. You could get sued for a lot.
In the US in a recent case, a lady got sued for file sharingand had to pay 2,000 US for sharing 28 songs.
